Larry Young, M.D.
Prior to opening my private practice, I practiced for over 13 years at PrairieCare and Abbott Northwestern Hospital, working with patients in psychiatric outpatient clinics, partial hospitalization programs, and on their child/adolescent inpatient units. I also serve as the team psychiatrist for the Minnesota Vikings, and consulting and treating psychiatrist for the Minnesota United, Wild, Lynx, Twins, and Timberwolves. In addition, I am quite proud of my work supervising residents at the University of Minnesota in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, in my role as Adjunct Assistant Professor.
After earning my Bachelor’s in Psychology at Georgetown University, I worked as a mental health counselor on the West Coast for over 10 years before matriculating to Cornell Medical School in Manhattan and earning my Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. I completed my General Adult Psychiatry Residency at Mount Sinai, and my Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at NYU’s Child Study Center and Bellevue Hospital, where I also served as Chief Resident.
I have been working in the field of mental health since 1991.
